With her flowing blonde locks, never-ending legs, ample bosom and tiny waist she is the girl we all grew up aspiring to look like.
But some argue that Barbie's perfect body shape would be unobtainable and unsustainable if scaled up to life-size.
And now, one tweeter has mocked up what they think Barbie's proportions would look like on a real woman.

Barbie's body shape and proportions are among the many things that play up to this 'thin ideal' which is ubiquitous these days but the the proportions drawn on an actual woman's body are quite disturbing.
When the figure is penned onto a real woman's body, it is shocking how tiny her neck and waist are.
The Australian tweet account @sbadsgood, who tweeted the picture, describe themselves as 'hunting the best pop culture on the web, so you don't have to.'
