While black is the shade to reflect mourning, Katie Holmes couldn't have picked a brighter colour to tell the world she is moving on with her life.
The former Dawson's Creek beauty stepped out with daughter Suri in matching pink clothes, with Katie in a playful tomboy shirt and her six-year-old in a pretty dress with a frilled neckline.
The girls have become somewhat of a team since Katie's separation from estranged husband Tom Cruise, and adopting similar looks simply furthers their quest to stay together as one unit.

Katie teamed her buttoned garment with a pair of fitted jeans and a brown holdall slung over her shoulder, while her daughter wore ruby slippers, akin to Dorothy's in The Wizard Of Oz.
It seems amidst all the speculation that Suri is growing up unlike any other child, Katie was keen to prove otherwise by teaching her life lessons and giving her a basket of her own at the supermarket.
The pair seemed to be getting on well following Katie's disciplinary tactics over the weekend in which she was forced to be cruel to be kind.

The mother-daughter duo were seen looking at pet pooches in Citipup pet store in New York.
Suri appeared to fall in love with a little white and black Yorkshire Terrier and Maltese mix pup but was left inconsolable when Katie, 33, put her foot down.
The little girl was seen performing all the classic children's tactics to try and get her own way.
