One big happy ninja family: Shane Warne and Elizabeth Hurley take their children trick or treating

Step-family bonding: Shane Warne and Liz Hurley take their children trick or treating for Halloween in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton



With Elizabeth Hurley's son Damian at boarding school most of the year, he hasn't been able to accompany his mother on her trips Down Under.

But following her engagement to Australian cricketer Shane Warne, the couple have been making sure their respective children get to know each other.

And what better way to bond than a family trick or treating outing near Warne's Sydney home.



The couple, Warne's son Jackson, 12, and eldest daughter Brooke, 14, and Hurley's son Damian, nine, all dressed as ninjas as they went door-knocking in the Melbourne suburb of Brighton.

But it looks like Warne's youngest daughter Summer, 10, wanted a bit a more feminine costume and dressed in a pink dressed and matching hairband.

Hurley's costume appeared to be a pair of leggings, Ugg boots, furry gilet and a ninja mask, while Warne, 42, was wearing a Ralph Lauren Polo fleece, jeans and soft Moccasin slippers.



No swords: The couple, who got engaged last month, were dressed head-to-toe in black



The couple, who have been dubbed 'The Shurleys' by the Australian press, posted a photo of themselves in this ninja costumes on Warne's Twitter page.

Earlier in the day, Hurley, 46, hinted at her costume, tweeting: 'Longing for a sword fight...'

Warne replied: 'Found some swords - let the battle begin. No tears please !!!!!!!

'What song should accompany EH & I in our ninja costumes? Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting !!!!!! Hahaha !!!!'

Fortunately due to health and safety concerns, the couple didn't scare Brighton locals too much by bringing actual swords with them trick or treating.

Hurley and her son Damian - whose father is ex-boyfriend Steve Bing - arrived in Australia last week.

The Austin Powers star is making sure her son gets to know his future step-siblings following her engagement to Warne four weeks ago.

On Friday, the family headed to the Healesville Sanctuary, where Hurley looked nervous around the birds of prey.

Speaking about his fiancée on an Australian radio show last week, Warne said: 'Elizabeth is a wonderful lady and we make each other laugh most of the time. We have a lot of fun.'

And he said he always calls her Elizabeth, not Liz: '‘It’s more formal but she prefers that.'

Meanwhile, back in her native Britain a host of celebrities were getting into the Hallowe'en spirit.
